Special Needs & Accommodations

Universal School is committed to inclusive education within our capacity. We believe every child deserves the opportunity to learn — and honesty about what we can provide ensures the best outcome for your family.

Our Approach
Inclusive Education Within Our Capacity
We welcome students with diverse learning needs and work collaboratively with families to determine if Universal School can provide the support environment your child needs to thrive. Transparency from the start benefits everyone.
1
Disclose on Application
Share any learning differences or special needs on your application form so we can begin the conversation early.
2
Provide Documentation
Submit relevant documentation — psycho-educational assessments, IEPs, medical reports, and specialist evaluations.
3
Meet Support Coordinator
A confidential meeting with our learning support coordinator to discuss your child's needs and our capabilities.
4
Determine Fit
Together, we determine if Universal School can provide appropriate accommodations and support for your child's success.

We Can Support

Within Our Capacity

Our learning support team is equipped to provide meaningful accommodations for students with the following needs, ensuring they can fully participate in our academic programs.

  • Mild to moderate learning differences — tailored classroom strategies and assessment accommodations
  • ADHD with management plan — structured support, seating arrangements, and check-in systems
  • Specific learning disabilities — dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia with appropriate classroom modifications

Beyond Our Capacity

Specialized Setting Needed

We care deeply about every child's well-being. The following needs require specialized resources, facilities, or staffing that fall outside our current capacity. We are happy to recommend appropriate programs.

  • Severe behavioral disorders — requiring a specialized therapeutic educational setting
  • Profound cognitive disabilities — requiring dedicated 1:1 aide support throughout the day
  • Complex medical needs — requiring on-site nursing or medical staff not currently available

Honesty Benefits Everyone

Sharing accurate and complete information about your child's learning needs isn't just a formality — it is the foundation for building the right support system. When we know the full picture, we can make the best decisions together.

  • Ensures proper placement from day one
  • Allows us to prepare accommodations in advance
  • Prevents unnecessary frustration for your child
  • Helps determine if Universal School is the right fit
  • All information is treated with full confidentiality
  • If not the right fit, we'll recommend alternatives

Every child learns differently. Our role is not to fit students into a single mold, but to understand their unique needs and provide the environment where they can grow, succeed, and discover their own path to excellence.

Our admissions process is holistic — we look beyond grades to understand the whole child and the whole family. Here's what shapes our decisions and the values that guide every enrollment.

We Do Not Discriminate

Equal Opportunity

Universal School is built on the belief that every child deserves access to quality education. Our admissions process welcomes all families without discrimination based on:

Religion
Ethnicity
National Origin
Gender
Socioeconomic Status
(financial aid available)
Financial Aid: Families facing financial challenges are encouraged to inquire about our assistance programs. No child should miss out on a Universal School education due to financial circumstances alone.
Questions?

Not Sure If Your Child Meets Requirements?

Every child's situation is unique. Don't let uncertainty hold you back — our admissions team is happy to discuss individual circumstances, answer questions, and help you determine the best path forward.

Office Hours
Mon–Fri: 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM

We don't select students based on test scores alone. We look for families who share our belief that education is a partnership — between school and home, between tradition and innovation, between who a child is today and who they can become tomorrow.
