68 Years of Resilience & Excellence
The Journey From 1958 to Today
The Burj Hamoud Years
In 1958, Universal School began as Modern Education in Burj Hamoud with a clear mission: provide comprehensive education to students from all backgrounds, regardless of economic circumstance. The name "Universal" was not marketing — it was a declaration that education belongs to everyone.
For 21 years, we served our community with distinction, building a reputation for academic excellence and inclusive values.
Survival Through Destruction
When our building was destroyed during the Lebanese Civil War in 1979, we faced a choice: close permanently or rebuild. We chose resilience.
Rebirth as Green Hill School
We relocated to Aramoun and reopened as Green Hill School. Operating through active conflict, we maintained educational continuity when families needed us most.
This decade proved that Universal School's mission transcended buildings or names — it lived in our commitment to students.
International Expansion
As the Lebanese Civil War intensified, many families fled to Cyprus and Greece. Rather than abandon them, we followed — establishing Green Hill International School in Limassol and Glifada.
These weren't opportunistic ventures. They were a continuation of our founding mission: to serve the Lebanese community wherever they found themselves.
When crisis scattered our community across the Mediterranean, we expanded beyond borders to maintain educational continuity.
Post-War Growth
As Lebanon rebuilt, so did we. Becoming Universal High School, we expanded our offerings and solidified our reputation as an institution that survives and thrives through any challenge.
Universal School
Expanding to full K-12 education, we reclaimed the name Universal School — honoring our founding mission while preparing for our future. Today, we serve students from Early Years through Secondary.
Digital Transformation
Implementation of K12NET school management system brought modern operational efficiency while preserving the personal relationships that define us.
Three Pathways Launch
The introduction of Lebanese Excellence, Canadian Gateway (OSSD), and Entrepreneurship tracks positions Universal School as Lebanon's most forward-thinking institution.

A Mission Without Borders.
From Burj Hamoud to Aramoun, from Limassol to Glifada and back — our mission transcends locations, buildings, and national borders.
We don't teach resilience. We embody it. We've lived it across three countries and seven decades.
