Our Three Languages

Three Languages. One Complete Education.

Each language carries its own identity, purpose, and pathway. Together they give Universal School students the linguistic range to thrive in Lebanon, Canada, France, and beyond.

Arabic

اللغة العربية

Our Native Language

Arabic is central to Lebanese identity and Universal School's mission. Our program ensures students don't just speak Arabic — they understand its literature, culture, and deep historical roots.

Program Highlights
Classical Arabic grammar and literature
Modern Standard Arabic
Lebanese dialect (naturally acquired)
Arab cultural heritage studies
Poetry and literary analysis

Across All Pathways: All three pathways maintain a strong Arabic curriculum, ensuring students preserve their linguistic and cultural identity.

Our Philosophy

Languages Are Bridges, Not Barriers

At Universal School, trilingualism is not a burden — it's an advantage. Every student, regardless of background, is supported to reach fluency in all three languages across their K–12 journey.

Identity preserved through Arabic
Global doors opened by English
Francophone heritage honored in French

Language Progression K–12

Kindergarten – Grade 3 Oral foundations — listening, speaking, and early reading in all three languages
Grades 4 – 6 Structured reading and writing — grammar, composition, and text analysis introduced
Grades 7 – 9 Academic language — essay writing, literature study, and presentation skills deepened
Grades 10 – 12 University-ready fluency — analytical writing, DELF prep (French), OSSD English, and advanced Arabic

A student who thinks in Arabic, writes in English, and reads in French does not simply know three languages — they inhabit three worlds. That breadth is the foundation of everything we build at Universal School.
